The City's of Gold bowling alley is worth the drive. I've been here on four separate occasions. The first time, I came on a Friday night at 8pm and was told there would be a 40 minute wait, so I decided to leave and go do something else. The second time, I came on a Saturday night at 10pm and was able to bowl immediately. I had a great time despite the lane malfunctioning a couple of times. The third time, I came on a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm and was told that there would be a 30 minute wait. The wait was an hour and a half. I decided to give it one last try and I came back tonight at 9pm for bowling. I was told the wait would be 40 minutes; I didn't start bowling until 10:30pm. It's one thing to have the wait time maybe ten minutes past the estimated time, but waiting nearly three times the estimated wait time is unacceptable. I'm not sure if it's the computer giving false times, or if it's the employees who are told to give false waiting times to try and get potential customers to stick it through. Either way, considering you're paying $16 for one hour of bowling per person (it's $15 before 3pm), you should have accurate waiting times and lanes that don't malfunction. If another bowling alley were to open up in Santa Fe that ran 10% better than The Alley, The Alley would close in a week. Unacceptable customer service, lanes, menu, and prices. In conclusion, this place sucks and you'll save time driving to another bowling alley.
I have been coming back since it has opened. The games are reasonably priced and fun. The pinball has four machines and they have kept them working. There is bowling, pool, shuffleboard, an air hockey table, video race games, basketball. There is a kitchen that serves excellent food from scallops to hamburgers. Very upscale. And the full bar serves craft brews on tap. I always have fun. Really a joy for the family or if you just want to get out some aggression on a pinball machine for a quick game. Service is excellent and attentive.
First time here and we had a great time! We got three games out of our hour, not sure if I would want to go much more than a hour. The staff was very attentive and service was great! Special shout out to Mateo who made our time even better with his great attitude and lively spirit!
Our family came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The person with a bday is free, there is a senior discount and kids are pretty cheap too. It is a very nice, modern and clean place. The bowling alley is ligit unlike some previous alleys in SF which had a big slant. There is good beer, good food and lots of other entertainment. We were impressed by friendly service.
Friendly staff good atmosphere. I would say some of the staff seemed a little new but you can't be too upset they will get better. Went early in the morning so there wasnt much traffic was very fun and enjoyable. I played pool.
