This not a review of the convent. This is a review of the business division of the order. I believe you are doing a great disservice to the name of a compassionate and caring saint. It seems that you have let secular administrators lead you from what St. Francis would have wanted his name to stand for. The main objective of your order is to control as much of the health industry as you can and make as much money as you possibly can so you can take over as many facilities as possible. If you are the same order that controlled St. Margaret Hospital 50 years ago, you were very uncaring even back then. Our then 2 year old son was scheduled for a brain wave test because he had a seizure. We rode around all night with our two toddlers trying to keep the 2 year old awake because he could only have 4 hours sleep. When we got to the hospital, we were turned away because my husband had gotten the wrong insurance papers. We had to leave the hospital and go to his parent's home to borrow the money for the test. When my husband read the plaque in the entrance to the hospital about how caring you were, he uttered some very inappropriate exclamations. But in retrospect, I think he was right. Your only concern is making money. How dare you do that in the name of St. Francis. Somehow, I cannot picture him turning people away because they did not have money or the right paperwork. If you are not the same order, please accept my sincere apology.
