So, I had a pretty terrible experience to be honest.. I mentioned before I came in (and during my visit) that it had been a while since I’ve visited the dentist, and I was aware that there was a significant amount of work that needed done.. Well, to be honest I felt ridiculed at first, as the doctor made me feel almost like he was throwing it in my face that I hadn’t visited in a while and went as far as making me feel “low” by pointing out (in what seemed to be a degrading kind of way) what my insurance could and could not cover. Example “Oh it could be fixed but it doesn’t matter your insurance won’t cover it” So anyhow, I am legally disabled, and I immediately felt judged about the type of insurance I receive. So I already had a bad taste in my mouth... ha ha... Anyways, after that he gave me the injections and I informed him that I could still feel pain on the right side of my mouth- and he seems frustrated and agitated by this and makes me feel like I’m faking it or something and eventually says “ok, I’ll give you another shot but if you tell me after this that you can still feel it we aren’t going to do any work.” So after the second injection it numbed me and worked but as I said, it had been a while since my last dentist visit, so even though the medicine was finally working I still also wasn’t used to the pressure feeling that happens when getting a back tooth pulled... So naturally I kept moving my mouth and what not and then I couldn’t believe it he raised his voice and told me “keep your mouth open!” And granted I was trying very hard to listen and then he takes the pick tool and goes to the other side of my mouth (where it isn’t numb and where I can still feel pain) and pokes the side of my gum (and I practically scream) and he says “see, the other side is numbed can you tell the difference?” Look, as I’ve said a bunch of times it had been a while since I visited the dentist but even with that being said I do not think the way he treated me and the experience that I had was appropriate. I had an absolutely terrible experience and it’s because of pompous arrogant doctors like this as to why many people avoid going to the dentist. Terrible experience. I didn’t return after that visit and have began seeing another doctor (which I strongly recommend) I got the impression when I walked in that I was scum or something.. Whether it’s because of my disability or my insurance or the fact that I live a couple blocks away and walked there... I was treated pretty badly over here. Zero stars to this quack.
