The Academy Theater

It's a cool place! Only 3 theaters and it was nice and empty there when I got there. Popcorn was delicious, staff was friendly... Everything was awesome except there's no parking. Had to find a street spot nearby.

The theatre is always nice and clean and very cozy. I’ve seen a few movies here from new movies like Jojo Rabbit to old movies like Night of the Living Dead and both were incredible experiences. The popcorn is so good and the prices are just right for a broke almost college student. The staff is also always friendly and makes me feel right at home. I will definitely be coming back!

A decent theater, far better than a chain location but doesn't really beat edgefield. Still a nice theater with good choices of snacks and beers on tap but the theater rooms are a bit musty and warm. The seats are nice and well spaced for bigger people.

This place is a treasure. I’ve gone here now a few times to watch films with my son, it is the oldest remaining movie theater in the Pacific Northwest, and I love the fact that they have so many movies actually running on film. Snacks are affordable, the lobby is like a blast from the past… And the folks who work there have an enthusiasm for film that I really understand. Movie prices are super affordable, and the surrounding neighborhood is fun to explore… you can’t go wrong on a night or an afternoon matinee out when you go to the academy theater.
