Lovely old building. They kept all the cool decor. Comfy seats. They will bring you food you ordered where you sit. Sound is heavy on the deep base.
Old historic theaters in Oregon are tremendous treasures. The Mission Theater is one of these rare gems that really stand out from the others in it's uniqueness. You can enjoy an adult beverage and pub-style food while watching a movie. The employees here take sincere pride in their work, and it shows in the way all things are done. The entire escapade feels authentic and intentional. Watching a movie here adds a richness to the overall movie experience that is hard to explain in words. Quite like going in a time machine back to a golden age of cinema. It is magical and you should go see what it is like for yourself.
Amazing staff. Great beer and candy. Popcorn is vegan (before butter being added). Watched Birds of Pray and had a wonderful time. The second floor has tables and seating so that's where the best seats in the House are imo. Enjoy!
If you like middle aged white people laughing too hard and rustling their food bags excessively while their phone is going off and they are too drunk to realize it's THIER phone, well buddy, this is your theatre! But if you can look beyond the other moviegoers, it's actually a nice place. Friendly staff, super clean, cheaper than other theatres because they are counting on your ordering food and booze! Your standard McMenamins vibe! Definitely take advantage of that student discount and don't forget your ID! And show up early so you don't get caught in a seat where you have to crane your neck.
First run movies and great beer at affordable prices. Plus, the bartender is a font of information. I love the balcony seating and the tables for food and drink as well. Can't believe I hadn't come here before.
