Movie Madness Video

Fabulous place. This is a true gem of Portland! You can peruse the thousands of movies they have for rental (not available on streaming services), check out the weird, funny, and cool old movie memorabilia, or you can rent out the private 18 seat screening theater for you and your friends to watch any movie in their collection! We rented the theater and it was super fun - everyone had a blast! They have a bar for beer and wine on site, but you can bring your own food. It was a great place to have a birthday party. Highly recommend renting the theater.

As the video delivery landscape continues to evolve, Movie Madness continues doing what they have always done best - having whatever you're looking for. We recently had a visitor who remembered a film that she had only seen in the theater in the early 1950s. The staff at Movie Madness was able to point us to the right part of the store, and I received the benefit of yet again seeing something from this wonderful store that I had never seen before. If you want to expand your horizons beyond the latest sequels in the multiplex, you owe it to yourself to wander the shelves at Movie Madness

When I first walked into the doors at Movie Madness, I was immediately impressed by everything from the decorations, to the friendly staff, to the unique organization of the videos. They have sooo many horror flicks, a ton of cult classics ranging from the mundane to the absolute bizarre, and a hefty documentary section. Great if you love anime too!! Or foreign films! This list goes on. I dont know if they will resume regular business but, before the pandemic hit, they had started serving beer for while you wander around the store looking at nostalgic movie memorabilia. Grab a handful of licorice at the front desk and check it out sometime!

This is one of Portland's greatest treasures. Movie Madness has the most phenomenal selection of movies you'll find anywhere, and they're brilliantly organized (there's a section dedicated to Canadian Horror films for goodness sake) to make browsing a lot of fun. It's also a museum of movie memorabilia, with costumes and little pieces of Hollywood history on display. You can find rare and out of print films and tv shows, and the staff recommendations are great. They recently started free movie screenings in the plush and cozy theater in the back of the store.
