Cranes!nDeer!!nPeople!!!nThe annual migration really is amazing and should be on your bucket list. The park is tucked away in a rural area but it's easy to find. You want to go to the observation deck (just after the gun range). Lots of signs. The parking lot is big and walk to the area is gravel paved.nYou want to get there decently early to get a good viewing spot on the deck - the birds congregate at sunrise and sunset. We got there around 1.5 hours before sunset and had a good spot. Keep in mind that the wind on the deck is fierce and you want to bundle up!nBy the time the cranes started coming in - was like a switch flipped - there were quite a few people (the lot was pretty much full). All were wearing masks. Not a lot of social distancing but it's very windy and outside. Porta potties are available. Viewing area down below the deck as well.nBring binoculars and telephoto lens....your cell phone pictures will not do this justice.

Was so excited to go. Had great anticipation of being able to see the cranes up close, pictures indicated such. I'm not sure if it was the day we went, weather, or if they just dont come even semi close as the pictures depicted. Regardless I was happy to listen to several birds calling out. Just wanted to see them up close.

An incredible place to observe nature. Wheel chair accessible. At the base this is really just a field but the amount of wildlife that I saw just in this one area was incredible.
