Bayless Dune is a natural gem located in the Miller neighborhood of Gary Indiana. It has an established 0.25 mile nature trail that includes interpretive signing and meanders through a small oak savanna and natural sand dunes. It has several elevation changes through the forest and dunes. The trail is not handicapped accessible. The preserve is owned by Shirley Heinze Land Trust in Valparaiso Indiana. The preserve is surrounded by Lake Michigan to the north and Indiana Dunes National Park in the other three directions.
