Amazing water shed with beautiful trails and structures. Small water features and creeks. Beautiful place, just wish they hadn't built everything up around it I'm the last decade. Very rarely see animals anymore.

This is the old coffee cream before they built the new watershed preserve location, still a nice place to walk around in small but easy to travel in for older folk or people who has trouble moving, plenty of places to sit and relax, some areas need maintenance attention though

Beautiful find. I especially like wetlands. Places mike this can be small but the trails are useful yet unobtrusive to the environment. Enjoying nature with little human impact. This community has a gem.

Love this little park. It has a nice wooden platform walk winding along the river. I've seen finches, canaries, orioles, cardinals, fish, crawfish, turtles, snakes, dragonflies, butterflies and other insect life. There is a competition horseshoe area, a playground, a dog run, picnic areas, etc...You can enjoy downtown Chesterton and the park. During the summer when the pampas grass and cattails grow tall, the park feels isolated from the world even thought it is right downtown. Recent and frequent vandalism of late has ruined a platform overlooking the river by the playground and railings along the path but it is still a nice place to take a walk. The river walk is a nice place to go if you want to watch beaver activity. At least one active beaver is removing all the trees along the river. You can observe day to day as more teeth marks appear on more trees and watch as the beaver works hard to fell the trees, gnaw them into manageable pieces and drag them into the river.
