5/5, would recommend. Excellent accommodations at the Grey Bar Motel. They even offered room service 3 times daily at no extra charge. Phone calls were pricey though, friendly staff and guests. Wish I could have stayed another night!

Poor experience from the Sheriff that spoke with me on the phone for a general inquiry I had. This is not limited to the Sheriff I spoke with when transferred to the Records Dept the lady that spoke with me was extremely rude like the Sheriff. This is no way to speak to a law abiding citizen who had a legitimate question. At this point one would think you don't have to have a Bachelors in Criminal Justice or for that matter any education of the law to be considered for employment there. As a Porter County resident you have to be your own advocate this dept will give no direction to assist and help you.

My dads lawyer Larry Rogers was suspended from service and because of it he was never informed of his court date. He was then picked up on a bench warrant and had to spend 4 days incarcerated for a simple speeding ticket. On top of the 1000 dollars he lost to the corrupt lawyer the staff of the jail stole all the money from my elderly fathers wallet. Extremely corrupt police. But that’s not all I have to say about them. One of my friends houses was burgled and when he called the cops they showed up and shot his dog that was CHAINED UP in the backyard. Oh and I have another one. One of my friends was riding a bicycle home around 10 pm one night some months ago, the police then pulled him over for not having a headlight. On his bike. They claimed they smelled marijuana and upon search they found my friends bong. He got a ticket for the bike thing and was arrested because of the paraphernalia and had an additional charge because of the ash that was in the bowl. They charged him for possession for ashes they assumed were marijuana. He eventually got the charge dropped but it cost him a lot of time and money to do so. Although I know 2 people who were caught with an ounce of marijuana each on separate occasions and were charged but not arrested. The cops sit around in speed traps all day getting anch for any action they can. My point here is that the porter county police are extremely corrupt and need a lot more training. This is an outrage and I am excited to say I’ll be moving soon.

They chased and tazzed me in the rear for no reason then charged me for plubic indecency.
