I've had a couple issues here, but that's about it. There is always a longer waiting time than preferred during busy hours, but with properly packed and labeled packages nothing really goes wrong. I've had 1 lost package ever with the USPS, due to lack of scanning. The staff isn't motivated to scan everything that you drop off unsupervised, understandably with how the USPS has been run lately. I give a little extra time so they can get the scanning job done while I'm actually in line, watching, and it has worked out fine. (I always bring prepaid packages so that probably helps too.)nnNot the best, but they have served me well for hundreds of packages.

UPDATED. I recently went here after about 6 months (was going to a different location due to my previous complaints) They have NEW EMPLOYEES who actually want to help you and do their job. The guy that helped me, I think his name was Marciano? Was an absolute pleasure. He went out of his way to make sure I received exactly what I needed which wasn't just a random request. He smiled, asked me if there was anything else he could do for me. Basically just a man who knows how to help people. When people treat you this way it just makes you want to go back. Thank you for finally hiring a couple people who actually smile at you and don't act like they hate their job. The crabby woman is still there but I just don't make eye contact with her. I didn't wait long either. Good job Merrillville. Keep up the good work. OLD REVIEW I go here at least 3 times a week. The line is always long and moves so slow. The staff seems like they hate their job. A couple weeks ago I was standing in line for 10 minutes and I was next in line, a friend of one of the employees (the only one at the counter at that time) walked in and cut right in front of me. They proceeded to chitchat about personal things. It was so rude. I use USPS for all my online business shipping and I really hope they can hire better staff. The blonde lady is pretty good and so is the lady who helps customers in the lobby with glasses. The others need to be replaced or retrained.

This is the slowest post office I've been at in my entire life!!! Simply wanted to mail a letter certified. Only 1 person working in the entire freaking post office with a line of people wrapped outside of the freaking building!!! Waited for nearly a half hour! Could have driven to the next city, mailed my letter & driven back in the time I waited. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Will never use this post office again!!! Ridiculous!!!

Received a notice today 7/7/2020 that was from March 2020. Received an envelope postmarked 6/17/2020 today. Received another postmarked 6/16/2020. Nobody cares but our regular carrier. She works hard for us but unfortunately there are those that just don't care. I'm hoping the postmaster general will read this. This is a small sample of what our business goes through.

I have been going here for months and multiple times my packages have been dropped off and scanned 3-5 DAYS LATER!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!! Some of us are running businesses. Fix your issues! Get all new employees if you have to!
