Jasper County Animal Shelter

I got my terrior there and named him Bengi. Sadly I had to put him down cause he had Lyme disease and I have been heart broken since then. Thay was like 3 years ago.

Mark and his staff work tirelessly every day to see that these animals are cared for and either adopted or rescued. I respect them for doing everything they can, given the meager budget they have to work with. I used to really disagree with their practices, but when I did some research and asked the right questions I found that there's an awful lot more to running this facility than I thought. Much respect to all the volunteers and employees there.

I called about a dog posted on their Facebook and they gave me all the information they had on him. I made an appointment and met him and ended up back the next day to adopt him. They have rules ,but they try to find rescues that will take dogs that they are not allowed to adopt out. They are doing their best with the tools they have been given. Not enough money and space etc...

We take in lost and abandoned animals, and love them until they find their forever families.

Went there about a year ago during their posted hours. The door was closed and a lady met me there opened the door to say they were closed. Started to ask when they would be open and she tried to shut the door in my face.
