Fishers City Court

I was basically FORCED to enter an admittance of guilt. I tried to enter the diversion program at my initial hearing. The judge told me to reach out to the City of Fishers attorney and see if I qualified for the program. Once I did that, the attorney told me I wasn’t eligible. However, I then decided I wanted to enter a not guilt my plea, and the judge said I wasn’t able to do this. I said I did I initially admit it, however that admittance was based upon the idea that I could potentially enter the deferral. When I tried to change to a not guilty plea, the judge said I couldn’t and he wouldn’t allow me to do so.nIt is MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to a trial where I can defend myself. I was trying to explain it to the court “officer” or whatever, and he told me it was over I had no options, pay it or hire an attorney. I said an attorney would cost me more than the ticket. He said, “Well those are your options”. I asked if I could just speak to the judge, he said “no we’re done.” Even though the judge was still in his chair. He also said in a seemingly threatening/intimidating type of way, that I needed to leave. I asked “or what, I was going to be arrested?”. He didn’t say anything further, but what choice did I have?nNow don’t get me wrong the judge seemed like a nice enough guy overall. The other people that he had judged, all seemed to get a pretty fair penalty and he was mostly empathetic for people’s situations. However, in my case an admittance shouldn’t have been entered until I was made aware of my options and whether I could or could not get into the deferral program. He pretty much indirectly took away my right to a trial.nJust really unfortunate that instead of getting a more thorough explanation, or allowing me to present my misunderstanding to the judge; I was bullied/intimated to leaving the building. I mean judges make a TON of money, he couldn’t take 5 more minutes to do his job. Isn’t that what a judge is supposed to do? Listen, make fair judgements, maybe explain their judgements if they want to?!
