This branch has been a long time coming. Kudos to the Carmel library for listening to feedback and finally opening a branch on the west side of town. Staff is friendly and the space is small but gorgeous. Love coming here!

Such a clean up to date location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are so pleasant. I would just adjust the main desk and the movie rack behind it. A little to close. It is small, but lots of offers for you here.

Visited 5 times now. Staff is great. Lovely space but waaay too small. Limited hours. 12-5 Friday and Saturday. But open for baby time 9 am On Friday morning. While I commend Carmel, I caution this effort. This feels exclusive. This is a public library. Paid for by carmel tax dollars. It should be as accessible as other libraries. And carmel can afford that. If it’s open to babies, it should be open to all so as to avoid socioeconomic discrimination. What about adults or professional students that can utilize this space too especially while kids are at school?? Public hours can’t be limited to just non working carmel mothers and their kids. Expand the access for all especially on the weekend. Consider expanding the space too. West carmel has a large need not being fed. I challenge the city to not focus on pretty roundabout but improved access to public spaces. Build more libraries, parks. Why are there no basketball courts near?? Why not complete sidewalks so people can walk and bike to the library or park. The city has too many resources to not have Michigan road connected by sidewalk all the way through west park and to the library!! Ultimately we are limiting our health, education and social support without obvious parameters in place.
