Carmel Fire Department Station 45

My mother-in-law was taken from a skilled nursing / extended care in Carmel, IN with breathing issues secondary to too much oral morphine administrated to an 82 year old elderly lady. It was the quick thinking and action on the part of the paramedics from this #45 Carmel Firehouse that gave her a fighting chance in the hospital. The paramedics thought outside the box and administered Narcan to counter act the high morphine levels resulting in stabilization of her condition and a chance now at the IU North ICU. You see Narcan is generally used to treat drug overdose and abuse. This just speaks to the quality of these EMS first responders; training, experience and field implementation to practice. THANK YOU!!
