Went to go look at a dog. The facility is falling apart and there was a sign on the door that said everyone had to wear a mask, NO ONE was wearing a mask. I couldn't get a consistent story of the dogs background. He was skinny. I was told that he was actually overweight when he came into the shelter so they had to cut back on his food. He had been there for 3 months and his ribs and spine were showing. I brought him home on a trial and there is no way I will let him go back to that facility.

A bit disturbed with my experience today at this shelter/vet. I needed to bring my new pet hedgehog to see a vet; Dr. Durkes was the only DVM in the area that sees exotics so I made an appointment. The only good experience was making the appointment over the phone, I was able to get in same day. Upon walking in the front door, you’re immediately hit with a putrid urine smell. I know this is an animal shelter overrun with animals and pet patients but the half hour I was in this place was almost unbearable. I worked in a vet clinic previously and there’s no excuse to have it smell that way. Anyway, I got in line *6 feet apart* from the person in front of me who was standing like 10 feet away from the front desk. This person must have already checked in but I was not greeted by anyone at all, and stood in the same spot for 20 minutes while new people walking in the building were helped immediately. I started walking forward to make it obvious that I still was waiting for assistance to check in for my appointment.nnSeveral workers made eye contact with me, but never acknowledged my need to literally just check my pet in for an appointment. Someone walked in and walked right up to the front desk and was helped promptly while I was still waiting which was extremely irritating. I finally walked up to the counter and said “I’m here for my appointment at 3:15” and the man up front gave me a blank stare for a minute. I knew they didn’t have any of my other information except last name and that I was bringing in a hedgehog. “So... do I need to fill out any paperwork?”. I was given the paperwork to fill out, which was extremely unprofessionally written. Asking for SSN to take your pet to the vet is obnoxious. No way I put any of that personal info. The form looked like it was written by a 3rd grader. Literally had “Is your pet allergic to any medications??????????????”. I guess it’s just the professionalism in me. Not a huge complaint I guess but still adds to the bad experience.nnI tried to find a place to sit after all that, their waiting area benches were 80% taken up by old used blanket donations. I had to shift a bunch of it over to sit on the edge of the bench. Finally the Dr comes to take me back for the appointment, I take out my hedgehog to show him what’s wrong and he suggested a simple fix, and was gracious enough not to charge me for the visit. Though the whole “appointment” was all of 5 minutes and I felt as though not all the problems were addressed and was very rushed.nnAs soon as we were done in the exam room, I booked it out of there because the smell was still killing me. Overall, this place is just extremely unprofessional in the way they do things and I will never come back here. I understand the daily struggles of working up front in a busy vet office, I did it for the past 3 years but you should NEVER leave a client waiting for as long as I did. Not even deserving of one star.

We got our new baby from here and there was animal feces everywhere the poor baby we adopted smells horrible like no one takes care of the place. I appreciate that we could adopt our new baby but they need to clean really bad

This place isn't too bad, however, getting a return phone call has been near impossible. We adopted a puppy from this facility in December and she is an absolutely wonderful pup. However, to get scheduled for her spaying service we've attempted several phone calls and haven't received a single call back. The phone is never answered, always going to a voicemail box that seems to be an abyss. We paid to have this service done but it seems we'll have to find another place to have it done. Satisfied with my fur baby, disappointed with the responsiveness of the staff.

Drove an hour and ten minutes to adopt a dog, shelter was dirty, dog I went to see was so skinny, they had him two weeks at the time, long enough for him to gain weight . He stunk so bad I had to roll the windows down because of the smell, I have NEVER smelled and animal that bad .Was told he had his shots but was never given his rabies tag? Was also gave medicine and told it was for his runny nose! Lie, he has kennel cough. He tried to inhale a pan of food when we went out to hang out for awhile. You could count every rib he had and his back bone. I kept him three days and gave him a bath and fed him he looked SO much better in just that amount of time. Someone needs to check in on whats going on! Maybe they stay off phones and clean and give some dogs a bath and make it better there!!!
