Salem Amtrak/Greyhound

Bring your patience and a lot of it. Also, you might want to bring something along with you to read whilst you wait for your transportation. A very long time of waiting can happen. The Greyhound station has water fountains and a special type of water fountain which will fill, or refill, bottles. Be they plastic, metal, or whatever. Just a thought for those who care about the environment.

It's a beautiful and fun way to travel. U get to see the different sceneries along the way to wherever u go. I always like to take pictures even while the bus or train is moving. Makes a kwl video even and u can share thm with family and friends

Used this station for Amtrak twice over the last few years. No issues that I can remember. One guy went so far as to offer help rolling a large piece of luggage to my waiting car and even loaded it inside. Dunno if he was expecting a tip (are you even supposed to tip them?) but either way he was a really nice guy.

The worst!!! Their motto should be “ Go Greyhound, we don’t give a shit”.About a year ago our adopted daughter was thrown off the bus while seventeen because the Baltimore company that had Purchased the run “changed their policy”. In reality, our daughter had been riding the bus to her boarding school is Deschutes county’s she was thrown off the bus because she was the only African American teenager on the bus. Never mind that she is an honor student and start athlete, and never Mind that all the Job Corps Kids are allowed to stay. Clearly a discriminatory policy in Oregon whet 17-year-olds are allowed to ride public transportation EVERYWHERE. On top of This, they apparently cancelled their run to Bend because of a Whopping two inches of snow.nApparently “Grehound”’feels No obligation whatsoever to update their website even when they cancel their Runs 24 hours in advance. My recommendation: DONT GO GREYHOUND!!

I called to get info on some travel plans and found the attendant to be very helpful. Was impressed.
