Butler City Court

The Court is much like one would expect a small town Court to be like. Nobody seems to have a raving experience here because people are usually only here to resolve different ticket issues, etc.nnDespite that fact the staff is reasonably friendly and proficient at processing different disputes. A person's experience can go either way of course depending on how one personally handles themself while resolving things here.nnI myself have found the staff, prosecutor, and Judge to be relatively reasonable and willing to offer help when they can for people so long as the situation merits it. I haven't had many issues to resolve here though and other people do seem to have a generally more negative experience with the Court.nnEveryone will typically have a unique experience here and how that goes will depend on any number of variables.

Definition of small town justice.. Police officer knows the prosecutor, both know the judge and all three are on the same side. Good luck getting an unbiased court hearing when it comes to traffic violations. When i tried contesting my most recent ticket in Butler i was trying to explain my side of the incident but all the prosecutor had to say was that “Sheriff would never do that, and that I’m in the wrong”. Despite there being no video, no radar and many inconsistencies in the sheriffs story. I received a ticket for doing 55 mph on the highway on ramp, when i asked what the speed limit was on the on-ramp mister sheriff responded by writing me a ticket for the road before the ramp.. When the town sheriff, lead prosecutor and the judge are all friends that seems like it may be difficult to receive a fair and unbiased decision in court.

The staff was very friendly, informative, and helpful. Despite not wanting to be there personally as I was paying a ticket, the experience was pleasant and straightforward.
