My disappointment comes early in the process of finding a new contractor. We all know contractors have a bad reputation for punctuality timeliness and completion.nnMy story is...having set an appointment with Central coast builders for 1:30 I had to call at 2:15 to see where he was. He indicated that it didn't get put on his schedule. He begrudgingly rescheduled us with an associate at 3:00 p.m. the same day. I received a call at 3:15 stating that they would not be able to make the appointment and could we reschedule. Just unacceptable, two times in the same day Central coast builders owner was unable to communicate with me timely and honestly.nnLike virtually everyone I have limited time and I am appalled at the unprofessional behavior of the owner. 2 hours of my time wasted waiting for a response.nnTo me this puts Central Coast Builders in the category of not punctual, not timely, not sure they would ever complete. This may seem petty to some but, it is the details that make the business.nnPlease make sure and note the posted review dates, looks like he might have been a good contractor years ago. All recent reviews are poor, on Yelp too.

Jim Davis, Central Coast Builders, Inc. is, and has been one of the best contractors that our company works with. We have worked with them since 2005 on well over 40 residential and commercial projects. We have experienced very clear and well-defined parameters on all his projects, and he is very easy to contact if questions or changes occur. Jim Davis has always represented himself ethically with us and has always fulfilled financial obligations (usually ahead of time). I recommend Jim Davis and his company to my friends and customers that want an honest and reputable contractor.

I couldn't have found a better contractor to work with. Jim Davis gave personal attention to the build of our home and it shows. We have a beautiful home with many special touches that we chose to add based on Jim's advise and expertise from building homes for so long. Construction was high quality but kept within our budget. Jim ensured his subs did quality work, too, and at the least sign of an issue, he was all over it and made sure the customer came first. Jim was flexible with changes and really listened to our concerns to make sure we were 100% happy with everything. We came away from this with not only a wonderful home but a new friend. I would recommend Jim to anyone and challenge you to find a better contractor anywhere!

I am writing this to thank Jim Davis owner of Central Coast Builders Inc for completely designing and updating a very old antiquated kitchen. He is without a doubt not only responsive to any and all concerns, but he returns calls the same day as received - and is on the work site overseeing all work being done. His crew is prompt, professional and detailed to a tee! I have worked with many contractors through the years, and he will AGAIN be the contractor who will build a house that will soon be in the works.

We hired Central Coast Builders to replace 34 windows in our home, repair dry rot, install a wall-mounted doggie door, and remove a window and replace it with siding. The contract was signed Sep 20, 2017 with an estimated completion date of Oct 31, 2017. Morgan, Central Coast Builders’ foreman, had a final walk through of the project with my husband Sep 20, 2018.nnIn December 2018, I prevailed in a CCB complaint filed against Central Coast Builders. The state’s mediator agreed the work Jim Davis provided was substandard and failed to meet industry standards. Hence, there is a permanent complaint filed against Oregon Construction Contractor license number 155592.nnWhen you interview licensed construction contractors, be sure to ask who will complete the work: direct employees or subcontractors. You also need to ask where building supplies are procured; is the contractor using material left over from other projects, buying substandard material from eBay, or sourcing material locally. Non-traditional means of acquiring material is beneficial to the builder but adversely affects the consumer’s end product.
