Aperion Care Fort Wayne

As A resident at Aperion Care I have really enjoyed the stay. They have a beautiful facility. I have found the nursing staff and the CNA‘s to be wonderful. And the food is very good compared to other nursing homes out there. I have a degree in psychology and I just love meeting new people and learning about the lives they lived. There’s a lot of very active seniors here. I’m here to recover from malnutrition and a cervical surgery so I’m not gonna be a permanent resident however I am enjoying my stay. When I finish my masters degree as a social worker I will definitely see if Aperion Care is hiring I would love to be part of the family.

If I could give this place a negative 0, I most certainly would.nMy Dad was admitted to this facility a week and 2 days ago. He was healthy except for having dementia. Now we are having a funeral. We got absolutely NO communication from them, except for the receptionist with promises of a call back from the nurse or someone. That never happened. So we continued calling everyday, one day was every hour, the next every half hour. Still no calls back. THEN when my stepmom threatens to not pay the bill she miraculously was able to talk to his nurse and aide. They reported to her that he was eating and drinking and doing fine. She calls to talk to the social worker, once again with the promise of a call back with answers. No phone call back again, no surprise there. The NEXT time she gets a call from them it's asking about his DNR status. Just a short while after that call, they tell her to come there because he's passing. She was then told he hadn't ate or drank or had his medication for a week. So we were told 2 different stories, never got to see him 1 time while he was there until he's passing. We were lied to, kept away from our family member and now going to attend his funeral.nWe want to know exactly what happened and why and why was there never a call when his status had changes of any sort.nNEVER will I let a family member or friend be at this facility if i can prevent it.

My father was there. He had numours bed sores. They were not giving him pt and said they were. After being placed on hospice. They asked me if we could wait until his insurance ran out

My family was looking at options for my elderly grandmother. Sarah Johnston was a huge help. She took her time, answered all my questions and gave me additional information to help our family make the best possible decision when it comes to my grandmother’s needs. Thank you Sarah for all your help.

I can not give this facility enough stars. This building is the best building I have ever been in. I was in observing for a week and had one on one interaction with both staff and residents. I got to meet the administrator and got to talk with her quite a bit. I just want to say that I have never met an administrator who is so hard working and dedicated to a facility. She is the most warm and kind hearted lady I know. She truly cares about the residents and the staff and wants whatever is best for her staff and residents. If you have a problem with anything she is right there to talk to. She is extremly understanding and compassionate when it comes to people. I have been in this building a few times prior to my week of observing, but it was under different administration. I would have to say that the best thing this company ever did was hire her as their administrator. She truly is the best they have had. I have talked to the staff and all they can do is talk about how great she is and how much she has done for them and the facility. You can truly tell that they are happy she is their administrator and I agree. I was only in the building for a short time, but that week really opened my eyes that when you have a strong team, it really makes a building glow. I also can't belive how clean the building was and how great it smelled. I have never been in a building that was so clean and didnt have a bad smell when you walked through it. I met both the maintenance director and his assistant and they were really great people. I was walking in the hall one day and even saw the maintance director on his hands and knees polishing the floor. I have never seen anything like it. Anytime he got a page for a resident needing something fixed, he was always right there with his assistant fixing whatever they needed. The residents even told me how great of a team the maintenance director and his assistant make. I thought it was really cool how much the residents talked about them and told me how much they care about them. I definitely recommend this facility to anyone and everyone looking for a place for their loved one. You won't get better care or people who care more than this place.
