Vanderburgh County Clerk

I called the County Clerk's office today for information on getting a certified copy of our marriage license in 1962. Jessica was extremely helpful and gave me all the information I needed. I truly appreciate how easy she made this for me. Thank you, Jessica!

I called to inquire about getting a misdemeanor expunged and I was told that I had to Google it to find the appropriate forms. When I asked what the website was she couldn't even tell me that much. I was just told to Google it and find it. So completely unhelpful.

Talked to the rudest lady on the phone. Cut me off 3 times in the span of 15 seconds before I could finish my question. Insane.

The head clerk might be okay, but some of her employees are dim bulbs on their best days. The deputy clerks here show no understanding of the details of the law, there are not enough of them to keep up with the amount of paperwork they are given and most of them are of absolutely no help to my legal staff except for the cashiers office. There seems to be complete disorganization here, and I am concerned that our local clerks office is near the point of failure. I would be amazed if the head clerk made it to November 2020 without a recall of this clerk being ordered due to the number of complaints that are being filed by various attorneys regarding this office. This head clerk had the responsibility to hire people that would work, but instead the decent clerks have quit from the prior administration and we are left with a complete mess.
