Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe

This is an extremely kid friendly campground within walking distance to Lake Monroe. Full service camp store and snack shop. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. They even have a dozen or so different flavors of ice cream for cones or cups. Plenty of themed activities for the kids if you want. There is a gas station/inn(Fairfax Inn) less than 5 minutes away that has 99% of anything you need if they don’t have anything. Very nice and accommodating management and owners. Owners were on site the whole time I was there. Clint(Owner) was very helpful to make sure everyone was comfortable. We drive 1-2 hours 2 times a year. Once at Halloween time and once in the summer to camp here. Oh by the the way, their splash park is worth the campsite admission in the summer all by itself. Amenities and scenery are spot on.

My family and I make it a priority to take a week of vacation together every summer. I am in the travel industry and we usually try to get as far away from home as possible. I have high standards for what I deem to be a great vacation. This year due to COVID we had to stay closer to home. Through an online search my husband found Jellystone Park Lake Monroe. The entire vacation was fabulous. The location was exactly what we needed. Off property we enjoyed boating, golf and a drive-in movie. While we were at Jellystone, we enjoyed a number of fun activities including swimming, jumping on the big air pillow, movie nights and karaoke. Every morning my daughter looked forward to meeting at the flag pole to say the pledge of allegiance and meeting her favorite characters. The staff were all wonderful and the owners were ever-present, hard working and clearly vested in making sure their guests had a great time.

What a great experience we had, at this camp ground. I have been to one other Jellystone and this one was much cleaner and had tons of activities for all the different ages. My family and I spent the weekend before the Fourth of July 2020 and the park was packed, but we felt that we were able to feel like we had our own little area. The general store had the all the forgotten items we needed and the best strawberry cheese cake ice cream I have ever tasted. The staff was super friendly and super accommodating. They are only a few miles from the lake and golf course so even if you want to adventure out from all the activities at the park, everything else was super convenient. Hope to come back in the fall. We had an absolute blast camping at Jellystone Park in bloomington and can't say enough good things. We will be visiting again and will continue spread the word on how great of a time we had. The owner left an everlasting impression on us. It is not often you see the owner of a business interacting with all the guests (adults and children) and working harder than any other employee on his team (you could tell they were a hard working family). We were so impressed with how personable, friendly, concerned and helpful he was. We saw him daily going to many lengths to make sure his customers were safe, comfortable and enjoyed their time while at the park. 10 ud83cudf1f from us!!! Can't wait to go back!

Kids loved this place. Some sites are a little tight on space but most are nice. Bathroom/showers are nice. Price seemed high but they do have a lot more to offer than a state site. Recommended.
