I had to take my beloved Tut here today. He had been treated by another emergency vet this weekend but after coming home continued to go downhill. The staff here was very friendly and caring, I choose to not continue any treatment due to the problem and Tut’s age. I helped Tut to journey to the rainbow bridge, the vet was very kind and Tut went very gently.

Went in on a Sunday because my dog had ripped out some of her stitches from a surgery earlier in the week.nnThe staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They examined her and gave me very honest feedback with multiple options for what we could do.nnThe only downside I would say is that their quote was pretty high. Their emergency visit charges are not unreasonable at all but the quote to have her fixed up was several hundred dollars more than my dogs initial surgery. This wouldn’t repel me from visiting here again though, as I said, they were very honest with my options and did not pressure me into having the procedure done with them. At the end of our visit they ended up not charging me the emergency exam rate but their regular visit rate as she did not receive a full exam.nnI would highly recommend this vet.

I came here to have my cat put down. I am putting two stars instead of one because the staff was kind and I do think they have the best intentions and I suspect the protocol they have for putting animals down was not their fault. I chose to be present for his euthanasia. His regular vet (augusta animal clinic, highly recommend them) was not open and I thought he was suffering so decided it was time (he had diabetes/allergies and had not been eating on his own for a week). I had seen my other childhood cat put down at my regular vet a few years ago, it was very humane, first paw is shaved, then injected with a sedative in the hindquarters so they won't feel the pain of the vet finding and inserting the needle in the vein in the paw to inject the euthanasia stuff. This is what I assumed would happen here. Instead, they took him away to a back room to insert a catheter, which I know is very painful, and I could hear him screaming. Then they bring the animal back out, clearly distraught and then they connect the various syringes to the catheter to inject the sedatives then the euthanasia stuff. I would not post a comment or complain if I had not seen my vet do the more humane alternative a few years before. I don't want others to regret their decision as I have in feeling like I didn't do the best I could have for my fur baby. I know I did the best I could for him all the years we had together but you don't get a second chance with giving them a humane euthanasia, I don't want others to make the same mistake.

I had to have my cat put down this week. I used the services of VSEC on Crawfordsville Road. From my very first call until after the procedure was completed, I could not have been more pleased with the service that I received. Jill, the intake person, along with the nurse and vet, were all so caring and professional. Also, the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend using this facility in times of urgent care needs for your pet. Thank you to the wonderful staff during a very difficult time!
