Barbers & Cosmetologists Board

Second year in a row I have not received my renewal license in the mail! I’ll probably end up doing the same thing as last year and just printing out my receipt and taping it to my old license. I’m not paying another $25 for it not to get mailed to me again.

Sometimes you wonder if anybody is working for State Board, everything has changed in 30 years that I have been a cosmetologist, the teaching, study, the tests, everything is different, even the inspection's, for the Salon's and Shops, are nearly null and void, use to be twice a year, and they have not been to my shop since 2015, the renewal notice was mailed out on your birthday month, and now good luck with that

Where are the new Covid Guidelines for salons? Where is the Board of Cosmetology? Why are taking fees and not helping salons open? No updates on the website Since MARCH. HELP the people you allegedly represent. Some of the board members listed are a barber and a stylist. Why do you not want to help us? We know the governor is making decisions but the Board is supposed to be advocating for stylist , why are they not answering phones working from home means you have your office calls forwarded. NO communication with thousands of cosmetologists looking for guidance and answers. HELP US

Apparently this is not my first time attempting to give a bad review, I’ll update. These guys are the worst! Won’t answer calls, won’t call you back. I can never locate my licenses to renew, they can’t settle on a payment portal that doesn’t take a fee out for its use. Tried a different computer, and can’t even log in on that one at all.... this is trouble for me every year!

Wish we all would Have gotten a call or an email or even maybe a letter to put us all on the same page about this virus. You come into our salons and take our fees and yet you do not help us during this time. We have to listen to everybody’s news meaning state and federal. Where are you? You are a state board you’re supposed to protect us.
