New Mexico State Personnel Office

If I could give zero stars I would. I am a former employee of the state of NM. When I got a new job the background check people couldn't validate my employment with the State of NM because the State Personnel Office would never return their calls. That was three years ago. I had to go to Santa Fe myself to get the required proof of employment. Now I'm in the same boat again. I have been recently hired at another company out of state and the background check company has contacted me saying that they have tried over and over again to get ahold of someone at the NM SPO to no avail. They never answer the phone. They are the worst. I agree with the other review here on google. NM SPO epitomizes terrible, lazy, unprofessional government employees. Looks like I have to drive to Santa Fe myself to get the documentation that I need. Unbelievable.

Called the number that's on the internet lady was rude. Gave me another number which nobody answered called multiple times and still nothing

ha ha! nm state personnel is the epitome of waste in government. did you know that these folks are only the top level of HR for nm state jobs, and they seldom know what the status is for any position in the hiring process? Often there is an HR person for the dept. (e.g. nmdot) below them that doesn't know the status of the job either. Now, if you can find out who the actual hiring person is for the division or function under which you applied, you may find out that the job has already been filled by another state employee's family member. nepotism, cubicle-swapping, corruption, secrecy--good luck breaking into this job market. You'd better know someone on the inside. qualifications don't matter. If they hired someone qualified, it would only bring attention to all the severely unqualified family members running the state. they love to get their quota of interviews, then look the other way while actively contributing to homelessness in New Mexico. this is antithetical to efficiency. Historically, all great societies fall. widespread corruption, lack of accountability, private agendas over public welfare... whatever happened to public service?
