Free Spirit Campground

We almost didn't stay here because of the bad reviews, but rest assured this Campground has a new owner and he is great. He works hard and is very friendly. There are lots of improvements happening. When we set up, our stairs ended up on a bit of a slope and the owner brought us a big slab of concrete to use for a flat and level landing right away.nnThe campground has wide open lawns, and plenty of space to spread out instead of being right on top of your neighbors like most places. It is peaceful and quiet and the nearby town of Bedford has everything you could need.nnSome amenities are still being repaired but the affordable price reflects that.

I camped here over the Fourth of July weekend with my immediate family as well as my sister and her family. We all had a great time. The grounds were well kept and when we ask for a fire ring and a picnic table they were brought to us immediately. The owner was very friendly with us and invited us to return which we will absolutely be doing. He provided fireworks that he paid for himself and we appreciated that.

Please ignore all the reviews that are over a year old. This place is under new owners and he has done a great job so far, he is working all the time to make it better. We stayed in the spring and had a nice site, clean and quiet. We plan on staying again soon. Close to Lake Monroe, mature trees, nice playground and shelter house.

Very nice place it is still in construction but a very nice place to stay they have basketball they have putt putt golf ⛳ A swimming pool that is under construction. Lots of shade trees and burn pits right outside your door They also have a playground for the kidsNext time we are in Indiana we will stay here again

Love this place! Under new management. Lots of updates! My kids loved the putt putt!! Very large campground, well kept.
