Was admitted into the emergency room for a 3 day migraine. My California Aetna insurance would only allow emergency visits and would not cover regular doctors. Since I had just moved to Indiana, I had told Dr. Pauszek of my condition and that all of my medications were able to be transferred to Indiana except my percaset that I have been on for 4 years for severe migraines. I can function semi-normal (meaning I don't have to be in a dark room in severe pain with no noise) if I am on 4-5 percasets 10-325 per day. My pain management doctor, neurologist and PCP are all aware of my condition and that nothing else seems to provide much relief. Dr. Michael Pauzek tells me he can see my medical history and doesn't believe in treating patients with percaset, so instead prescribes me with 5-325 Norco (1 every 6 hours) and only gives me 20 for my pain until I can get the insurance problem figured out. I take approximately 135 percaset per month. His prescription doesn't even come close to touching the amount of pain I am in and he refused to prescribe any more, even with a 4 year history, knowing I wouldn't be able to make it back to California for at least a month. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!! He doesn't care about his patients, or how much pain they are in and just wanted to rush me out the door as fast as possible and treated me like I was a drug addict. I have had every test known for migraines, multiple MRIs, chiropractor, massage, acupuncture, nerve block shots, 36 very painful botox shots in my scalp every 2.5 months, every type of drug they can throw at the problem.... I am not a drug addict. I have been on disability for 2 years. I wake every day with a migraine and start treatment to ease the pain. I am on 10 different medications to help me prevent migraines, sleep, keep from vomiting from the pain and medications, etc... I am not a drug addict! Dr. Pauszek should have his license revoked and be fired for treating his patients with such disregard and knowing he was going to send his patient into withdraw and worse migraines than when he came in for treatment. Thank you so much Dr. Mike! You are possibly the worst doctor I have ever met!
