Hickory Ridge Horse Camp

A hidden gem in Hoosier National Forest! Some of the most beautiful hiking around. Pit toilets, no water. It's set up for horses, and lots of horse people use it on the weekends, but it's peaceful and empty during the week. Also free, which is nice.

Well kept quiet Campground. Self Serve no fee. There was a lot of standing water although we've had a ton of rain lately. My only complaint is that spots are limited when conditions are wet

Remote forest service camp that is free. We horse camp and love the trails in this area. Lots of places to ride and beautiful Trail. You can get even big vehicles in to camp so longer horse trailers will fit. There is a stock watering tank a short walk from camp.

Absolutely fantastic trails. Moderately difficult on certain sections with inclines but over all a great park for any level hiker/backpacker.
