Ian McIntyre - State Farm Insurance Agent

A couple of years ago my husband & I were sent to Ian, after our previous insurance agent was no longer with State Farm. His office is far from us, but we went to see what plan he could offer us. He sold my husband & I a much, much larger life insurance plan than we had. Neither my husband nor I have a 401K or retirement plan from our jobs. I'm a nanny & he's a Teacher's Aide, not a salary Teacher. An experienced insurance agent should consider his clients incomes as a major factor when he/she offers a plan. We could not afford the plan he sold us, but that was our mistake to take it. It turned out to be a very costly mistake too. After a few mos, I received a few phone calls & messages from Ian to check up on us. I told my husband we really need to cancel this plan. I proceeded to call Ian back, at least 3 or 4 times, to cancel. He wasn't returning my calls now. I let his receptionist know what was going on. I'm sure she told him I called multiple times & wanted to cancel our plan. I eventually called the State Farm helpline to find another agent. The person on the line found us Rick Smith's office. He's wonderful, & so is everyone in his office. His office is also right by our house. The fact that we were sent to Ian, instead of Rick, orginally, is a real shame. Working with Ian cost us thousands that we will never get back, & he still made his profit from us. I'm very disappointed & still upset with this whole situation. My husband & I were trying to figure out a way to have a retirement fund. It's even more of challenge now, & we haven't been able to save anything after this experience. I'm trying to help people. I don't want this to happen to anyone else, after what we went through working with Ian. It was a horrible experience.

I have been with State Farm for several months. They were so helpful with what I was looking for. Being in the military, I had Progressive Military and the cover was okay, but I was shopping around because I felt I was still paying to high for low coverage. Thanks to Ian’s team calling me, walking me through my coverage, and even saving a ton of money I have never been more impressed and happier with an insurance company. Thank you guys!

Moved out to Indy earlier this summer from IL. Had SafeAuto for years...(never again)nnState farm was able to drop $100 off my insurance with SafeAuto and gave me more coverage. This group actually walked me through and explained what I was paying for. Very professional honest group here.nnThanks guys!

I sadly had to use my coverage for the first time at the beginning of the year, through all of the confusion and not knowing what to do next.
