The Lanesville location has added a paid attendant and began locking the gate. The process to recycle has become more of a hassle -- today no attendant, gates locked. Maybe if Harrison County would have visited the location more than once a week it wouldn't have needed to add a full-time employee. This is a waste of tax payer money and a clear example of government action without digging for a proper solution. The center keeps banker's hours which is super convenient for residents. Open the gates and let the community police its recycling center. I am at the point where I will begin to simply add it to my trash bin.
Hours are convenient if you do not work. Open a total of 4.5 hours all weekend long in Corydon and not at all in Lanesville. Harrison County would clearly prefer that residents throw items away rather than recycle. It seems like a shame, but I guess we are done recycling. Attendants need to leave a 6 foot cushion instead of watching over your shoulder during a time of Social Distancing.
I’m glad we have a recycling center to use. I never noticed before I started how much stuff I’ve put in the landfills. Only thing I wish we could recycle is styrofoam. I do try to not buy things I can’t recycle.nnPlease keep up the hard work helping the planet!!
Bins are mostly full. Employees sitting outside most of the time. The only time they get up is to yell at us for putting items in the wrong bin. Most people do not know what # 1,2,3 plastic is! Put up pics. Get off your chairs and assist. Empty the bins and help out. Earn our tax money.
