If I could go anywhere else.. nay, is society had been responsible about how a grocery store ought to be.. even remotely.. I'd go anywhere else. But as it's on very corner and I can't find a decently priced smaller grocer... I go. Terrible to take over a market, jack up prices.. and just keep jacking them up... Cause they can... Makes me utterly angry.
We tried the curbside pickup. The young men who were supposedly helping us were very slow and left their phone to ring indeterminately whilst we tried to call at our pickup time. The woman who helped us was very kind, helpful and apologetic even though it wasn't her fault. She was the main redeeming person, otherwise we would have cancelled our order and shopped elsewhere. We waited 90 minutes for our order.
Be very careful if you decide to shop in the floral department. The manager is super sensitive and if you look at her the wrong way - you may very likely be asked to leave the store. Safeway takes great pride in providing employees a safe work environment but does not really care about the environment of shoppers. I guess the floral department manager rules.
I love the deli, it is one of my favorite places to go during school for lunch. The problem is that many of the employees do not follow mask rules, and wear them below their nose. It is hard to get help because I do not want covid.
Worst drive up and go service ever. With all the stores adding online shopping, I thought Safeway would be okay. You pick a time you want to pick up your groceries, but that time doesn't really matter because they will send you a text when done, over an hour and a half later, if you're lucky! Waste of time and money. Go anywhere else and it would be faster!
