Jim and Travis are awesome. We have purchased two vehicles from them in the last two years. They are professional, and very easy to work with. We had an issue with one of the vehicles we purchased, they took care of it right away without hesitation, and without charging me anything extra. Their shop employees are very knowledgeable on the vehicles. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new used vehicle.

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a van from Jim McDermott when my car died in Sisters, OR only to drive it to San Francisco. The van seemed fine when I drove it but the problems started stacking up the very next day. A large bubble was on the side of one tire that had to be replaced immediately ($130 which Jim at offered to pay half of but never followed through with). I soon realized that the gear shifter was failing and I replaced that myself ($70). The blower on the AC failed and had to be replaced ($40 part). The back hatch did not lock and has no key hole so it is impossible to lock. I still do not know how to resolve this problem and now the van is constantly open to thieves. When I reached out to Jim at D.A.S., he claimed that the vehicle had been inspected and none of these problems had been diagnosed. That leads me to believe that his mechanics are completely incompetent or he knew and just chose not to bring up the problems so the sale went through. Either way, its unacceptable and reason enough not to buy from them. In fact, Jim even claimed that the tire was somehow the result of my driving, which was even more infuriating.nnAfter all these problems, I finally made the drive back to CA to try to sell this van, only to find out that there are over $2000 in outstanding registration fees left of the van!! Unbelievable! I was duped into overpaying for this van and now this!?! Do. Not. Trust. These. Guys. This is something they definitely should have known and disclosed.nnI don't usually leave bad reviews, but people should be warned about these guys. They were very polite, nice and accommodating in person, but now I know that was all a disguise to cover the fact that I was being set up and screwed over. Don't let it happen to you.

I bought a car on Saturday (7th) for 6800 cash. Came back yesterday for a blend motor repair which was great. As soon as a got out of the parking lot I noticed a chip in the windshield right at eye level. I immediately turned around and brought to the owners attention. He refused to accept any responsibility for it. I told him I just bought the car on Saturday and only drove 40 miles and there was no chip in any of the glass. I then say when I get the car back from you now there is a chip on the windshield. We went round and round. He refused to fix it. Blamed me. Belittled and disrespected me. I will never recommend or come here again.

Went to look for an affordable car with a $5,000 budget and they had a decent amount of vehicles that fit the criteria.nnI did a test drive on what I was interested in and then went to all the other budget auto traders in town. I wasnt able to find anything that fit my price range or anything that didnt need a ton of major work done.nnI came straight back to Dechutes Auto sales and drove the car once more and then took it home.nnI've never gone around looking for vehicles from dealers, it's always been a Craig's list thing for me, but this place has made it feel pretty easy for me.nnThe guy working *Travis* was very helpful and was quick to come out and show me around. Never felt any pressure from this guy at all. Definitely recommend this place to first time buyers who dont feel like they can comfortably look for vehicles without any know how.
