I assume the people of Columbus, Indiana named this plaza for Robert Garton to pay tribute to him for his years of service as a US Senator from the state. However the worst way to pay tribute to a person is with a sculpture by Peter Lundberg! If you are a resident of this town, please let your local officials know, this is an abomination. I mean, crissakes, if Senator Garton were dead already, he'd be roiling in his grave!nnAlso what kind of impression of the town do people get when they come across the Steward Bridge from Garden City and that's the first thing they see in Columbus?
