Hackensack Health Department

No one answers phones even though the hours clearly say they are open. I am unable to pick up my infant's birth certificate without an appointment. How am i suppose to schedule one if it always goes to voicemail after calling 10 times in a row? How am i suppose to get my childs own insurance if the health dept. dooesnt answer me so i can get the proper documents? I cant wait more than two months; after his newborn insurance runs out. So people just earn money there by sitting at a desk ignoring the phone? Unbelievable.

After saw some negative reviews on google, I went there with same expectations. But reality was something else. I entertained with warm welcome & I got my daughter's birth certificate within 5 mins. I appreciate the services provided by the Department.

I read A LOT of negative reviews about the HHD. I have to say my visit and interaction with the staff was nothing but professional. They were polite, friendly, very helpful, they work quite expeditiously and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Kudos to the staff for proving the naysayers wrong.

My step mom died and had no family in Hackensack. She died in Hackensack. I called trying to find out where the body would be taken or who in the city would know. Both the females that worked they’re got rude and said they didn’t know but in the rudest way. You work for the town. If your not willing to service the town you work in or help the residents that call what’s the point? Shame on you.
