All things considered durinf this time, the service was excellent.
Please, organize yourself , this is 21st century start making online appointments.
Despite the long lines, the MVC employees were ALL helpful, courteous and efficient.
Oakland - This is a great facility. They are all up against a lot with personnel reductions due to covid19 - but trying their best.nSome more signage and direction would be helpful - but here's what to expect...nWe got there at 7am, and got a paper #~200.nPeople are placed into two lines - new drivers - and the rest of us.nBring a chair, umbrella - no bathrooms - and a big vat of patience.nThat said - we actually made the best of it and met a few people around us - and everyone helped one another understand what was going on.nSome bad jokes. No fights.nBe careful in the hot sun - a woman fainted.nThey stopped handing out #'s ~9:30. No number, you come back another day.nOne person came in to return plates - saw the line - and was dejected. Luckily he met the MVC line coordinator who graciously just took the plates and saved the man HOURS of waiting time. She should wear an MVC hat so you know who she is - but someone owes that lady flowers.nIn the end, took us 7 hours.
Had to get there at 4:30 AM just to be one of the first in line and we still had to wait till 8:00 to go in. Pretty AIDS to be honest.
