The reason I give this school only 2 stars is not due to the teachers or academic offerings. I am actually extremely impressed with the faculty and dedication they show to the students and opportunities/content offered. However, this school is unfortunately located on the Kennedy High school campus which also houses 7 other schools. The level of violence at the campus brought on mostly by the caliber of students that are outside of Humanities is a dark cloud over an otherwise great school. Principal Hicks is no nonsense and really goes above and beyond. However, to no avail.. I had to remove my child from the school due bullying & violence. The Charter school had no real control over the situation since the students involved were not attendees of the Charter School. Humanities should remove their school from this campus. It diminishes the quality of the learning environment. When issues of violence arise there is no process in place to resolve anything involving collaboration within the entire building.
