Today, 9/12/20 I went to the Nutley Branch and along with 4 other people were waiting in line for them to open at 7:30. Both employee's were late and they didn't open the doors until 7:43. Nice to have a goverment job. No wonder the USPS is going bankrupt and needs taxpayer money to stay afloat. What a disgrace......................

The. Worst. Post. Office. Ever. The line is outside every single day. Only 1 person working there daily. If you don’t believe me, go there and see yourself :)

They don't open at 7:30, wrong info in Google. The window opens only at 8:30am.

Great people. Very meticulous about how they do things. Post office is meant to do things correct not at the pace you want, so I recommend off hours for faster service or a time where everyone is not trying to mail at the same time.nnMaybe it’s me, but I have my mail prelabeled before I get there rather than waiting on line to finally figure out how much it costs to mail. I’d recommend going online to buy your labels, tape it on the box and just drop it off rather than sit on line.

Every single time I’ve ever went to this post office, I’ve been treated very well. I do a good amount of shipping, so I am in the post office between 1-3 times per week. It’s true there are times the line is long, it’s not the fault of any of the employees. I’ve witnessed the verbal abuse the clerks put up with. It amazes me how rude the public can be in general.nMost of the rude customers don’t realize the USPS employees are doing their best to NOT waste anyone’s time! If a customer goes to the window and used the incorrect shipping box, written the address incorrectly, didn’t seal their package, etc., the clerk will explain exactly what that person needs to do and then specifically tells that person to return to the same clerk after the customer has packaged their item correctly. No one is allowed to do any of those tasks at the window. While that customer is fixing their issue, the next person in line is called and helped. This continues until the customer completes the task and has their item sealed, addressed correctly, all forms filled out, etc.nFollowing the directions of the clerk- they return to the window. The clerk will always finish with the current customer, and then finish the customer who had the issues. Without fail, there’s always someone who has to be rude... Mostly they first yell at the customer about there being a line. When the clerk explains that he/she was told to come back to that window and he/she had already waited on the line, the rude person usually insists that the person is “cutting” the line and a bunch of nonsense.nFor a small and very outdated post office, the employees are the ONLY reason that post office operates. I’ve been treated very fairly and have not ever had an issue out of the hundreds of times I’ve been there during this past school year.nThere are no self service kiosks. Everything is processed by the clerks. The Priority flat rate and Express sections are almost always fully stocked with all sizes of boxes and envelopes. There’s another well stocked section of shipping boxes/mailers that you may PURCHASE to send your item in if you don’t have your own.nHere are just a few helpful tips to minimize the amount of time you need to spend inside.n- Boxes, bubble mailers, envelopes, tape, labels and pens are all your responsibility. The boxes/envelopes for Priority and Express shipping options are available, but be sure to bring your own tape and pen.n- If you have your package correctly packaged, addressed and sealed- the only thing you need to do is pay!!! Educate yourself on the shipping options available to you before coming into the post office. It’s AMAZING how much of a difference that makes!n- During the holiday season, plan on a delay. Everyone is sending gifts, returning items, etc. There will be a longer wait then usual.n- Being polite, patient and treating the USPS employee with respect goes a very long way.nRemember, the customers are the reason for delays and frustration. Please do not take your frustration out on the employees who you expect to make sure your item is delivered!
