EMBA admissions interviews take place off campus at a random federal government building (Armstrong Hall) that feels more like an ICE office, with a platoon of cops guarding the door, who are more like interrogators than receptionist for any normal educational institution or place of business. No waiting area, no restroom, just cops and a metal detector. Totally unwelcoming experience, especially for professionals looking to give you >$200K in tuition and fees. Why not conduct your admissions interviews at any of Columbia's innumerable better and more friendly offices? This crucial part of CBS's EMBA program felt way worse than that at any other tier 1 and tier 2 business schools. Even Fox at Temple does a better job in this regard. Such a disgrace and poor first impression to the otherwise well regarded CBS. Needless to say, this experience was key to my decision to matriculate into a different program at another elite school.
