Ocean County Library, Brick Branch

Stellar, exceptional staff, who are very kind, and often the soul of patience even when it's crowded. They often demonstrate flexibility, and are highly skilled in showing you the library resources. My children are teens now, but when they were children... the children's staff was patient, and offered us some great, creative programs for my daughters. They treat people like people, not like just a library card.

Wow! I just moved to the area and thought no one would beat my home area library system - Hunterdon County. Wow was I wrong. Super nice and helpful staff, an ADULT reading challenge!!!!, and self check out?! Amazing. Great app too. Better than what I’m used to!!!

I frequent the local libraries and have for years.I think it is unusual that one can sense the difference from one library to another as soon as you enter the building. It is almost as if the building itself takes on the characteristics of the staff. You can feel the welcome that is extended to you as soon as you enter. In the same way you can feel the reluctance of the person who really doesn't want to be there working and reflects it off of you. For me a visit to the library is one of my greatest pleasures and I have felt real sadness at the times I have spent at a library with a poorly chosen staff. Brick Library has, so far been a pleasure to visit. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. They are helpful and never rush the patrons out the door at closing time. I have been at libraries that do that and it is so disconcerting and, well, downright rude. With the trend going towards technology and away from hardcover and softcover books, it seems library staff should try their level best to encourage patrons to enjoy public libraries. For a really enjoyable experience in a well set-up library, come to the Brick branch of the Ocean County library. You will be glad you did.

The system is set up beautifully...I request a book, and it's delivered to my Branch...so amazing! And the staff are always terrific!
