This was our great love in New Mexico. I loved going there before they had to shut “dine-in” down. Even though the governor shut everything down we ordered out once a week. Their food is amazing ❤️❤️
We’ve moved to Florida but I miss Pete’s Cafe’s food 😢
Pete's has always been my favorite place to eat in Belen. Fresh, authentic New Mexican cuisine served by a wonderful staff in a beautiful building that's been around longer than I have.
Their chiles rellenos are the standard by which I compare all other chiles rellenos. The complimentary chips and salsa are fantastic, as are the sopapillas that come with just about every dish they serve.
Not only that but they are fully COVID ready with proper precautions for both indoor and outdoor dining.
If you are in the area, you've gotta come in and get some fantastic local cuisine.
Better to eat in than to go!
Best place to eat in Belen...period...It is historic..beautiful...Old School New Mexican restaurant...family owned and operated..Salsa is amazing...My family has been going to Pete's since I was little..every time family comes in to town we always go. Red or green...both are fabulous.
I didn't like it much, but I think that it's more of a personal opinion than a general one. I thought the salsa was too sweet and boring, the chips too bland, the food okay. But everyone else at my table thought it was fantastic, so I guess it's just me. The service was great though, super nice.
