If only there was a way to give less than one star! Let me be clear -- if you have someone you love, DO NOT allow them to be placed here. I would not trust this facility to care for my cat. While my father was in their care, they gave him the wrong medications, did not prevent him from falling (despite being there for a broken hip), and left a UTI untreated for 4 days. When visiting my father through the window, I noted that a bandage on a wound was dated almost a week previously, meaning that his wound had not been treated in almost a week! I received almost no communication from staff, despite constant emails and phone calls requesting updates. My attempts to call were often futile, having to call 10-12 times before anyone answered the phone and, more than once, having them answer the phone, set it on the counter and walk away. Ryan Lockwood, the director of this facility, made excuses and told a different story to family members and other health workers trying to get information. When it came time to discharge, they acted like they had never discharged a patient, with no discharge paperwork being shared until the last minutes and no DME ordered. In addition, they sent the WRONG patient discharge paperwork first! When my dad arrived back at his assisted living, dirty laundry, empty water bottles and used gloves had been packed. Overall, the staff appears to be understaffed at best and incompetent at worst. Ryan, in particular, lacks any compassion for families and was completely resistant to communicating in any way until threats were made. Overall, my father declined significantly while in their care. This is NOT a rehabilitation facility -- it is warehousing of old people. Beware!

I'm writing this on behalf of my mother, who passed away March 2019 at The Pearl. My mother had dementia, which we handled at home until we couldn't function anymore. I moved her to The Pearl and for 2.5+ years, she managed there, with the help of their staff. They have 2 Memory Care levels with about 15 rooms each. The staff was very caring....dressed her and fed her and tried their best to entertain a group who was not able to respond mentally. Nurse Julie is top notch and did a fine job of enthusiastically holding the staff together. I can't remember everyone's name, but from the other Julie at the front desk to Alexis who dressed Mom, to the others who attended her in the last days, we are grateful. Their Memory Care administrators changed hands a bit, but Mom 'graduated' while Rachel was there. I have to say that during that difficult time the staff was at their best. We were steered to Signature Hospice, (Courtney) who helped Mom with her medical needs. Both The Pearl and Signature were sensitive, attentive and showed our family a lot of love and concern. We appreciate all that The Pearl did for us. Thank you!

Update!nThe Pearl and the people are what I remember from my Mothers past visit. After working the kinks out and having them listen to my concerns, everything is going great. I'm happy they took the time to fix these issues.nThe Pearl is a wonderful place. And I would gladly recommend and bring my mother back.nThank you for your kindness and care in addressing this.nI truly appreciate it.nnMy Mother has been there 4 times prior to this one six years ago. I think obviously they have changed management and all the nursing staff which I'm sure is common, but our first day after check-in was horrific. No one answering her call light. The first time 20 minutes the second time almost 30 she came out of the hospital needing someone to be with her when she stands. Because her oxygen levels drop to 70%. She's in oxygen so trying to get up, and get to bathroom is very dangerous. The morning nurse said she would change and fix her oxygen tubes because water was dripping down her nose. Just what she needs is another sore. It didn't get resolved until the next day when I was there. Now she is coughing. Her grilled cheese for dinner was burnt, and nobody came in all day letting her know what's going on or when Therapies start . She felt like she was pushed in a back corner and forgotten.nToday the occupational therapist was the one to help me fix a lot of these issues which wasn't even her job. That was very nice. The Night Nurse also very nice didn't show anything in he's charts about oxygen problem. But tried to help. Also tried to help by giving her ice cream to make up for the burnt dinner. I filled him in that the morning nurse was supposed to take care of the oxygen and told my mother she would .nBut Never did!!nI'm very disappointed with the staff as far as sharing info on her chart. They didn't seem to know anything about her. They called me to drive her to appts that should have been cancelled. She's there to receive therapies not go off site for them.nI don't remember this place being so unorganized or uncaring 6 yrs ago.nIf you have a loved one there, stay in top of it. It's like having a second job.nYes the building is beautiful but the care is only as good as they hire. Which isn't much since they are so under staffed.nThis is only day 2. Hope it gets better.

My mother was admitted post back surgery. If your loved one is bedridden this is not the place for you.nAttention to detail, timeliness of care, follow through, and communication was very poor. It was rampant, not the exception.nStaff was unprofessional, uninformed about overall condition and needs. Confusing information was given as staff does not appear to be fully trained on their computer record system. The exec dir had to be texted on a number of occasions to run interference on inaction of staff.nThis was our 3rd admission and neither of the prior two were negative in nature.nIn comparison to to our current placement the staff at the Pearl could learn some lessons.nComplaining to the state is unsatisfying that your concerns will be looked in. They seem to only be interested in whether for example a medication was given rather than what it took family members to get said medicatoon given. It took 10 days of harping to get action to get things slightly evened out. If you do not have family to advocate, I feel sorry for your loved one. We were with my mother every day of her 6+ week stay.nnNOTE The site you reference does not work and you do not return calls. How interested are you really??

My brother was at the Pearl almost 6 weeks due to a leg amputation. All the staff at the Pearl were terrific! Nate (mgr), all the PT/OT people excellent, Justin and Lisa were wonderful. John and Jamie were lovely and so helpful. We were all treated with respect and quick attention was given to my brother when needed. I guess the only draw back was the food. Although, my brother said breakfast was the best. We were happy my brother was at the Pearl.
