Modern Domestic LLC

Friendly staff, great Bernina machine selection and small selection of fabrics at the Lake Oswego shop. First time in and I was very impressed.

I have been to both modern domestics. This review is for the one in Lake Oswego. It is a very nice shop, with lovely modern fabric choices in cotton, knit, linen, and even some waxed canvas for bags. Lots of patterns, including quilting, clothes, and bags. They also offer classes. The class space isn't as big as their space in northeast Portland, but it does allow for more intimate classes with more hands on help. I took a class there for the tabor top with Rebecca, and she was a great instructor - very knowledgeable, kind, supportive, and helpful. Modern domestic had lively and helpful employees. Definitely recommend their shops.

A nice new location for this place, very nice not to have to go to NoPo. They have a nice selection of sewing fabric, not really the place to go if you're looking for quilting stuff. They carry the 100 Acts of Sewing patterns here.

As a garment sewer, I found little here. A quilt and sewing machine store.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, good selection of fabric and notions. Small parking lot.
