a lot of violence and not a place to learn schooling more of a place to learn how to be ghetto and learn how to fight. however the guidance counselor I had was amazing (Mr.Kline) he always saw past the students mistake and just tried to help. he was truly amazing. however the students are terrible. disrespecting teachers and fights break out everyday. like I said just a crap school to go to. thank god I got the hell out
Horrible school. At least 2 fights every 2 weeks, teachers let students slack off in class, behavior is tolerated by staff, I wouldn't recommend sending your child if you don't want them to end up ghetto.
Great school with great teachers. Well it was when I went there 13 years ago!
This school is horrible for a higher budget school. Once I moved to this school I really was surprised how far behind and slow they went compared to my lower budgeted school that was in a poor city and had an average classroom size of 25 students.nnWeirdly though, whatever their using their tax money for it probably not going into anything useful. There were often roaches and other types of bugs that would be roaming or dead in the hallways. Once my locker was infested with bugs and it took them a week to find a empty cup with some juice in next to mines to be the cause.nnThere are some pretty sweet and caring staff however. And the ones that are not angels are usually hell to work with and it is surprising they even got hired. In 7th grade (the teacher is retired now) I had a pre-algerbra teacher who quite literally and physically assaulted me in class. I will admit I was not paying attention to their taganant and yelling but they literally jerked my clipboard out of my hands and all my papers went flying on the floor. He even yelled as loud as he could in my ear to pick it up. One of my classmates from that class said he once threw her book out the window once. I cannot confirm or deny this happened though.nnAnother teacher who to my knowledge still works there. He constantly embarassed me in class despite me having the highest marks in his class often where my grades were in the 90-100 range. Being a kid with depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and aspergers I often found it hard to sleep at night due to racing thoughts and he would embarass me in class by stopping his whole lesson just to yell at the other side of the room to wake me up. My mother even emailed him about me having social anxiety and him embarassing me in class like that was really factoring in to my anxiety. He saw and replied to it saying he'd try to stop but naturally he did not.nnMy guidance counselor was absolutely atroious and a poor excuse for one. As previously stated me having all my mental illnesses, I often found school a challenge. She was horrible. She did not care about students at all. She is extremely stubborn and heartless. One winter day it was snowing hard out and our bus was nearly a half hour late and the night before I got zero sleep from suicidal thoughts and me planning to kill myself after school from overdose and drowning. I wore my hoodie over my head because my hoodie made me feel calmer and it closed me off from the rest of the world. I was told to take it off and I refused saying it's cold or something. They called her down and when I told her I was having a bad night and I am really depressed and I just wanted to keep my hoodie on she called the police officer stationed at her school on me. Another incident was once I needed to get to my locker after class and I was denied with one of the teachers (my homeroom) standing in front of my locker and swatting my hand away from my lock because for some reason we cannot go into our lockers in between classes. She called my guidance counselor. When I refused saying I needed to put my stuff away or else I'll be stuck after school because we had a switched block day where all of our period were switched for about a week for testing or something and my last class was in the back of the school and my locker is in the front of the school and I would most likely miss the bus she just called the police again. She does not try to reason at all with students. Thankfully our principal wrote me a note that let me leave class a few minutes early to go to my locker.nnStudents are horrible here. They fight every five seconds, they are very homophobic, racist, and more. I have been bullied for just trivial things like the way I speak and my interests. It was hard for me to hold back and not go off on some of them.nnOverall, I don't recommend coming here. I do not know how the other middle school in the district is but I've been assaulted, embarassed, and brought to the conclusion even ending my own life from this school. Please stay wary of this school if you or your child goes here.
Awesome school you should really go
