Tavern on Kruse

It's nicely situated and has a good atmosphere, but the food is marginal. I've visited several times and tried various menu items. The Halibut fish and chips strangely came with a steak knife (!?) and I soon found out why. The fish was so overcooked and dried out you had to cut it with a knife. The fries were not the best, the coleslaw was in a container the size of a thimble. Halibut should be moist and flaky. Cod is actually a better choice for frying and is cheaper too. At $19 this was a big disappointment.nThe crab dip is hot, soupy mayonnaise, not a shred of crab in sight.nThe steak bites are tough.nThe beer selection does not offer enough variety. It consists overwhelmingly of bitter IPA's. No mellower, darker beer like an Amber Ale.nHowever, the personnel and the manager are very friendly and attentive, and the live music outside was fun.

Super friendly staff and delicious food. I love the steak and the garlic fries. The mac and cheese is also a great choice and the mango salad is great if you want something a little lighter. It's a great place to go for a date night, girls lunch or for a drink. Not sure if they are doing brunch again but the brunch is really good too.

Wonderful service, fantastic food, and owners that went out of their way to support others during Covid. Live music makes it special. Lake Oswego seems so upscale but most of the restaurants are sub par (not sure why). This place is everything and more that I would expect from an upscale restaurant. Best place in LO!

I have been to this restaurant many times and always love the food, from brunch to dinner. The butternut squash ravioli is my favorite with added salmon. The restaurant staff is always great and the live music every day creates a wonderful ambiance!
