Chews Landing Fire Co

I had a Surprise 50th Birthday Party for my husband at the Chews Landing Fire Hall. It could not have gone better. The hall is large. The kitchen, bathrooms and hall were spotless. Everyone who I dealt with prior was so nice. They returned phone calls quickly and were readily available to answer any questions that arose. The firefighters who worked the day of the party were so nice and they even allowed kids at the party to go in the garage and climb on the fire trucks. It was a HUGE hit. I highly recommend.

Very disappointed to find out that Chews Landing Fire Co. will not support a local agency that assist adults with disabilities do a fundraiser in the spring. A volunteer service that relies so heavily on community involvement refusing to help a local agency raise money to assist the community is really disheartening. After being a member in other fire departments, I can tell you that they have every opportunity to discuss this in a meeting and bring it to the members for vote. They will not do this and flat out stated that they do not help non-for-profits raise money. It is important to note, I did not want or ask for the hall for free but what they would charge a non-for-profit agency (as some places offer 501 discounts) and what their policy on booze is.nnSo please, members of the Chews Landing area. When time comes to vote on budgets in town and this fire station wants to raise your taxes and request more money for additional supplies, that they are turning away potential income and dictating who can rent their hall and who can not. This is completely unacceptable from a community based, community funded agency.

These men are the GREATEST. ALWAYS READY. THEY RUN INTO DANGER WHEN MOST OF US ARE GOING THE OTHER WAY.
