Rutgers Camden is a pretty small campus but it has a lot going on for how small it is. It makes people feel at home, no matter what background you come from. There’s a variety of culture on this campus, and it’s a lively campus. Students and faculty are both very friendly and willing to help if you ask, we’re all here to help each other! College is tough, but at Rutgers everyone is here to make sure you succeed and become the best person you possibly can be.

I’m currently a student at Rutgers University - Camden. The environment here is pretty welcoming, and the campus is small which I personally enjoy. It’s a more personal feel when you’re here unlike some larger Universities. Almost all the professors here are here to have students succeed and are here to help. The students here are also very friendly and welcoming to new students. Every class I’ve been in I’ve had no problem meeting new people and talking to them. I’ve made some really good friends here and we always pass each other or have time between classes to hang out or enjoy lunch together.

Something strange happened when I went here...nnI went to get a degree to get a job; instead, the place taught me how to start and run a business that generates 7-figures annually. I didn't even study business! Strange, right?nnI started here fresh out of the military, and wanted to be a doctor. I had no friends, so I joined a veteran group, and created a benefit run for a fallen student who was recently killed in combat (Jeremy Kane).nnThe school actually helped us set it all up, and gave us $20k to pull it off (we needed permits and police to shut down streets in Cherry Hill). Yes, my professors and coursework was great, but people like Mary Beth Daisey and Fred Davis all helped shape me into the employer I am today.nnSo when you go there, don't have an agenda. Instead, seek out your deepest passions, and what gives you meaning. For me, it was doing charity, which taught me I'd be pretty good at creating something and managing people. Who knew?! Yes, you can just get the degree, but if you dive into campus life, groups and activities, you can leave with a lot more than that. Oh, and the gym and library are awesome!

I work on Campus at the CC Library so I'm in the area quite a bit. It's very well kept and the staff security are rather friendly. I like the events they host for the community here, Camden Comic Con being one of my fave. I bring my son every year, he loves it!

Low-key one of the best universities in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area! The biggest selling point is the amazing faculty. Faculty at Rutgers-Camden are held to the exact same hiring, tenure, promotion, and research standards as the faculty at the many-times-larger Rutgers-New Brunswick, so they are truly top of the line. Unlike almost any other state school, the faculty at Rutgers-Camden only teach 2 courses per semester (rather than 3 or 4), and thus they have enough time to do cutting edge research and are expected to, but they also have more time to interact with students. The campus is also surprisingly peaceful and beautiful and gives you the feel of a small, elite liberal arts college. This is kind of the best of all worlds - a small, intimate campus with small class sizes and lots of interaction with professors plus the cutting edge research and training of a large research university. And all just a 5 minute train ride from downtown Philly!
