Friendly, service-oriented neighborhood public library! They're open 6 days a week from Sept-June with some evening hours. There are children's storytimes, adult book club,knitting group, free ESL classes, a teen room and materials in foreign languages for New Americans. They are fast at getting holds on materials for me from other FREE Library locations. I encourage everyone to get a free library card (just need proof of address), and use it!
Difficult to get to when walking north on Passyunk, but worth the shlepp.
Good amount of books and variety of genres
Generally 5 stars, but why do they close early - often and randomly. Last that I checked, the Wednesday before thanksgiving is NOT a national holiday.
I learned to read there!
