6 months after we installed the new flooring, under Greg's instructions as to how to prepare the floor before installing, the floor began to crackle, not creek. It was not the subfloor but the new floor itself. He sold us the staples/nails and borrowed us the right staple gun.nFirst time he checked out the problem he said the black paper with a sticky back he advised us to put down was probably the noise we heard. Once the stickiness wore off it would stop. It did not. He then had someone from the company he buys his products from to check the distance we placed all the staples/nails. YES they were placed the correct distance apart. From the beginning there was not a complaint filed by the manufacture who checked the staples/nails. The second time that person came back he tried a technique. Drill a hole where noise is worst, install a screw, snap of screw top then fill in holes on flooring. He did that in different areas. Never worked and told us to find stain to match and cover spots where screw were placed??nNext we had another professional come in that would try a process of running a knife-like tool down the seems where planks met. The entire house could be done for $1000. Greg tried to get the cost divided 3 ways but manufacturer refused. We did not have it done because it was not guaranteed to make floor crackle free. That professional also explained what he was seeing about the flooring and why the noise. BTW this noise is mostly down the hall. It is loud enough to wake us and our guests up. Seriously. So what he saw about the floor was the tongue was to big for the groove and as we continue to walk over those seems those edges are going to weaken and break, causing the noise. He pointed out the edges and demonstrated what was happening. We know of some friends that purchased the same floor shortly after we did but the problem didn't start until approximately 6 months later. When they heard of our issue and how we were being accused of noticing it while we were laying and other dishonesty from both companies, they decided they were not going to go back to both companies and go through what we did. They sold the house. The noise ABSOLUTELY did not start when installing. We would have stopped right there. We followed every step we were instructed. My husband even placed additional screws throughout the entire area that was to have new flooring, to make sure floor was even.nFor a good while now the finish is coming off where the planks meet. Explain that after being installed for several years. We have no dogs, cats, etc. in this house. Just 2 adults. Explain that. Just simply poor quality and totally unprofessional businesses that got by with every dishonest word that came out of their mouth. They have our money. Customer satisfaction is meaningless to them.nAs I read the first post above about the company installing and made so many mistakes and was ignoring the customers calls, that definitely proved to me how crooked some companies can be.nDefinitely would never go near this place again!!
Greg was wonderful to work with up front. He was personable and easy to get along with. He ordered our very high quality flooring and was ready to install right away. He even came and unloaded the flooring himself in the snow. The initial install went well. It was when I started asking questions or being concerned about some choices that things went sour. We didn’t want the cheap transition pieces put in next to the carpet. We also didn’t think they should stop the floor right in front of our dishwasher in case we needed to take it out later (which we did and almost couldn’t get it out or the new one in). They also ran out of flooring. When they came back to finish, it was a completely different outcome. There were lumps, cracks and it looked like the floor was squeezed in. There was no transition under our door to the patio so air was just blowing in (in February). Greg again came out and made it seem like all would be well. It wasn’t. The floor looked somewhat better but the new transition was slapped on the door and looks awful, also resulting in the door being difficult to open/close. The piece to cover the toilet pipe was thrown on, not sealed, screwed or installed. They also chipped several pieces of our baseboards, and didn’t sink the staples in which made it very hard to paint over. I attempted to ask Greg about it through text and calls, but never received a response. Overall, we like the flooring and initially thought Greg was amazing. The end of the job totally put a bad taste in our mouths and will never recommend or use them again.
We bought hardwood flooring about a year ago. Greg made the process easy. He had the right tools we could rent for a cheaper price. He delivered the wood and unloaded it. He gave good advice to help us install it. I would not hesitate to buy from him again.
We have used Haus of flooring to replace our carpeting, whole house. Done in 2 days, was very impressed with the work by 2 guys. They respected our furniture like it was their own. They were polite and cleaned up. Was never asked for money up front. Recently Haus of flooring replaces flooring in our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Again we were well satisfied customers. We highly recommend and would use them again
Great selection, price, and service! The owner was very helpful in guiding us through selecting the appropriate carpet for our space withouth trying to add any unnecessary upgrades. The quality is exceptional with competitive and fair pricing. The service was professional and quick. A very pleasant experience!
