Went into bank few weeks ago and the customer service person Precious was very rude. The other customer service reps weren’t any better. On a brighter note the supervisor was very compassionate about the service I had received.

The staff at this branch are amazing people!nThey know me by name every time that I come in for anything. They are super friendly and always ready to help, even when they are swamped with members.nnTwo of the ladies here even entertained my special needs child while I was opening up my accounts. They could have been rude about his behaviors that happen when he gets bored, but instead they danced with him and kept him entertained and out of my hair for a few minutes.nnI have always preferred credit unions over regular banks, but I will never go anywhere else after my wonderful experiences with everyone here at Mazuma!

I’ve been a customer since 2003 and have had several incidents that appear to have came down to demographics and race sadly. Be prepared if you are a person of color. I’ve been overcharged for fees and credited a year later. I was approved for a credit increase to my Mazuma credit card after 16 years, however the agent requested 2 pay stubs and for me to drive to her location 20 miles away and hand deliver 2 years tax returns (for a credit increase on a 16 year old account??) why else would you request this. The second incident occurred 9/16 when a large deposit was deposited instead of a 5 day hold It was requested that I have a 7 day hold. Carmen Taylor of Lee’s Summit refused to make any funds available until the 7th day, this was after almost 30 minutes of wait time (I was the only one in the entire branch). Do yourself a favor and go with United consumers or a different CU altogether instead of this bank. Trust me I will be removing all funds out of this discriminating bank.

So I went in to get a replacement card, waited a while patiently, a teller was yelling for Jennifer because she had a long line, Jennifer didn’t respond, I said Jennifer I think she needs you, she said yeah I heard her, I’m still waiting at desk and another customer comes in and tell someone I’m waiting and I said that you, and Maria comes from restroom negative energy and having a rough day, getting involved in customer and my conversation, she preceded to help me, carmen came out and was polite and made experience much better, will not be returning to this location again
