My experience occurred May 2015. Excellent History Lesson! My companion wanted to stop here for the selection of Missouri wines. I wanted to stop for the history of the Italian families who immigrated here and added so much to the wine traditions of Missouri. We were both incredibly pleased with our stop! Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We skipped the Route 66 video during the tour but watched the one upstairs that featured interviews with area residents who told the story of Rosati and the grapes. I had no idea that German POW's were tasked with aiding the grape crops in Rosati during WWII. We later enjoyed the bottles of wine that we had purchased as well.
I seen inside the place and it has a theme that wasn't my taste but I had a lovely time.
Stopped into this museum on a rainy fall day when the owner wasn't really expecting many visitors. He was super gracious and gave us a personal tour. The museum tells the story of the Italians that came to this region and began to make wine. This location was an active winery at one point. There are lots of historical items and I learned a lot. I was especially fascinated to see how they were trying to use the concrete tanks coated in beeswax to ferment the wine. I highly recommend this stop. To top it all off, he gave us directions to some small local active wineries that were awesome as well.
Beautiful and rustic feel to the area. Welcoming environment. Great for families on a Sunday drive.
